The Academy has successfully created a bridge between intellectuals and the general public by engaging in scholarly activities and addressing the expectations of the masses. For instance, the Amar Ekushey Boimela has become a symbol of the best cultural festival in Bangladesh. Over the past six and a half decades, Bangla Academy has edited, published, and promoted approximately six thousand titles. As a representative of the memory and conscience of the Language Movement, the Academy remains accountable to the history of both the Nation and the State. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to the arts and culture of the country, Bangla Academy was awarded the Independence Award in 2010.
