This book is a must-read for every Muslim who wants to break the stereotype when it comes to wearing a headscarf. According to my market study, the books regarding hijabs that are accessible and authored by non-Islamic academics are mainly based on myths or have some type of common ground. The book 'Under my Hijab' discusses how to enhance one's appearance with a hijab, while the book 'Does my head seem that big?' describes a young girl's battle and struggle wearing a hijab in Australia. What I don't like about the latter book is the notion of having a friendship with someone of a different gender, which is contrary to the fundamental principles of our faith. The third book in this regard, titled 'Proud-Living my American Dream,' is a biography of Ibtihaj Muhammad, who made history by being the first Muslim American woman to participate in the Olympics while wearing a hijab. The other publications on hijab authored by Islamic scholars are quite scholarly in nature.
It's a must-read for everyone !
